Comfortably Bum

Yesterday the crack down was on the system. Today I will give some insight of the constituents of the system, no humor dose even today.

xxxxxx is a cool place, not because it’s always raining and at the nights we need to almost switch off our fans or because of the scenic beauty around, but because the culture is so cool – informal, casual, relaxed. Let us explore some of the major elements necessary to make a person “COOL”:

Swear: F - - K, nearly everyone uses this 4 letter word (as a pro-noun, verb, adverb, adjective). Fcuker, Fcuking good / bad / teacher, Fcuk you dude, Fcuk off. Assh - -e, Bitch, MC, BC, GM and the list goes onnnnn… I my view when because people fall short of words they use these helping words (Lets buy a dictionary)

Smoke: You might not even know how to hold a cigarette but ya it makes you cool so do smoke. Let me tell you its not allowed on to smoke in our campus, but it makes people super cool (even more if you can break a rule) so “COOL DUDE”

Drink: Actually liquor is such a bad thing that we need to drink it off the face of this earth. So “LOSE CONTROL” yaar

Drug: I hope this does not reach the CBI or whatever, but grass, hash, janja etc are the only ways out, for some dudes / dudettes, of this fcuking stress laden place.

Other creative “COOLNESS REDEFINED” elements would include:
Pass a comment on fellow student, don’t listen to the teacher (keep communication amongst yourselves), lie down on the last benches of the class and sleep, ask a gibberish question (to prove what you are made of).

A lot of people don’t agree with me when I tell them that they do all this because they think it’s cool. There is another explanation to these activities of coolness, by “The One Who Must Not be Names” (our respected Deputy Director):- ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)”. I hope I don’t sound too derogatory when I say “I agree” and if I do then I am happy because the purpose is fulfilled.

And before I wrap up for the day let me present to you “supp?”. supp dude? Supp man? Or just supp?

Etymology of the word “supp?”:

How are you? (huuunn…ancient people say that) --> What’s up? (ahh… that’s too long and I am to busy) --> supp? (wow… that’s cool)

Because what we have (in India) is never good enough, so we always follow (ape) the west. My request: let us learn to be ourselves first, before we try to imbibe other culture. I am sure a lot of us would not even know the meaning of “NAMASTE”.

With this thought I take a leave, Good night and Good Luck. (me included)

Vishal, i could not have agreed with you more. The fact is that we are parasites (matters to only those whom i mean) and will continue to remain so. It is such an irony in our class that even people try and justify incidents such as proxy which is basically considered a criminal offence in any civilised country (i am sure our cool dudes dont consider India as civilised) is vehemently justified by our so called educated, sophisticated, cultured???????????? (a big hahahaha) cool big city dudes who still call Mumbai Bombay because its cool not to accept changes. Unfortunately the list does not end here and goes on and on and on. Oh it was such a pity to listen to one of our most intellectual dudes that this is a natural expression of the students anywhere. I believe these guys have taken Manorama Year Book too seriously and have gone too global to miss out on local issues like the kind of discipline and professionalism displayed by SIBMites and even SITMites. Chalo Chhota mu bara baat ho gaya kyunke gao se hun naa, itna limits pata nehi hein. Chalo SIMC zindabaad because thats what SIMC seriously needs to survive with these roudy and nonsensical crowd.

Ya I totally agree that the word cool is portraying the different meaning, if you do sth unconventional, that it is cool but is making hot to those people who do so.
Unfortunately the cool dudes are more in numkber than the rest and numbers always make an impact.

I agree Vishal, that the shallowness has increased, we are living probably for the sake and doing things more for others or to show it off, without knowing the reason to what we are doing... We don't know about origin's or why part of our actions.. And finding our own self is the most difficult, mysterious and intersting journey...

Balle balle mundeya... phatte hi chak te... bada hi "cool" topic phada... actually its very true, this is an issue esp. with youngsters who are low on confidence and are often in some inferiority complex as well. And trying hard to impress others they lose their identity sooner or later and it becomes their so called natural expression... i'm saying this from my personal exp... though few of these are still part of me but only when i'm in "burrrahhhh" mode...
The ultimate coolness is being comfortable in your own skin, in short BEING YOURSELF!!!

This post is a very telling sign of the times we live in.. Its rather sad that people feel the sometimes overwhelmiing urge to align themselves to one group or the other in order to maintain their 'coolness' factor or to prove to the world how desirable or different they are from the rest of the crowd.

The truth is that only those who have the courage to be true to themselves are the ones who are different and who stand apart..
